POLICIES & PROTOCOLS

Please ensure you are on time to your appointment, if you arrive early please wait in your car until I instruct you to come in.  I allow enough time in between clients to thoroughly clean.

​

If you are over 15 minutes late to your appointment, you will need to reschedule another one and will be charged in full for the appointment as I will be unable to fill that slot.

​

Please keep personal belongings to a minimum and please refrain from using your mobile phone whilst I'm working.  Even small movements will effect the application of your gel polish & when you sit texting this can seriously impact on the precision of your nails & time spent having to tidy up any mistakes made.

​

Keep your hands in the lamp until instructed to remove them, this is to prevent any fluff sticking to the nail.

​

CANCELLATION POLICIES

​

Any appointments cancelled within 48hrs will be charged half of the fee, if it is within 24hrs you will be charged in full for the appointment, this slot will not be able to be filled at this short notice.  Unless the reason is valid & this is down to my discretion.

​

I will then require a 50% Non refundable booking fee to reschedule an alternative appointment.

​

Anyone who does this repeatedly will be removed from my books.

CHRISTMAS APPOINTMENTS

​

I will open my December diary at the start of November, where all Christmas appointments may be booked in advance on a first come first served basis.  You will need to pay for this appointment in FULL to secure it.  This is NON REFUNDABLE & cannot be transferred over to future appointments if you cancel this appointment.  This is to protect my business at one of the busiest times of the year from no shows & last minute cancellations.  You are agreeing to these terms & conditions when you book any appointments in December.

 

NEW CLIENTS

All new clients will need to pay a 50% Non refundable booking fee to secure your appointment, this will then come off the cost of your treatment on the day.  If you fail to show up to your appointment you will NOT receive this booking fee back as it will cover the cost of your missed appointment & I will unfortunately not allow you to place a second booking with me.

​

I will send you a link with the amount via message, you simply need to scroll to the bottom and fill out your card details in the same way you would if purchasing anything online.  There is the option to download the app & if you choose to do this you will receive points every time you spend with me through the SumUp app, which allows you to collect & use them at a later date towards money off your appointment.  Simply follow the instructions or alternatively you can skip downloading the app & just pay, I will then receive confirmation as soon as it it paid.  You won't be able to collect points to use at later date.

CLIENTS VISITING THE STUDIO

 

  • ​Client will fill out a new client record card at the start of their first treatment, where I will record every treatment & aftercare advice given followed by a signature at every subsequent treatment.

  • A face mask will need to be worn if you have any cold like symptoms, you will need to supply your own face mask, however I will stock a limited supply of face masks should you require one, this will be added onto the cost of your service as it cannot be re used.  I will charge accordingly depending on the price at which I buy them in at, no profit will be added to these.  I cannot give you a definitive price for these as the current market for such ppe is so varied at the minute.

  • Please do not arrive early for your appointment, I will have allocated enough time for each treatment & additional cleaning time once the previous client leaves in order to maintain a clean & hygienic workspace for myself & the next client.  If you do arrive early that is fine, but please wait in your car & send me a message.  I can then advise you when I'm ready for you to come into the studio.

  • Please avoid bringing any bags in where you can, a small handbag is fine but ideally if you can bring only your debit card & keep it on your person to avoid any unnecessary contamination.

  • You must avoid handling your mobile phone whilst at the appointment to prevent any hairs sticking to the nails & prolonging the appointment.  Unless it is a phone call you need to take, I kindly ask that you respect my time.

  • You will be required to spray your hands with hygiene spray or sanitiser prior to the start of your treatment, this will be provided for you & is on the desk, so please help yourself.

  • I kindly ask that you avoid touching your face or hair during the treatment avoid contaminants on the nails.

  • Please refrain from handling any of my products & tools.

  • All implements that can be sterilised will be cleaned & disinfected  with sterilising solution then placed in my autoclave for 100% sterilisation

  • All towels, sponges etc will be placed directly into my washing machine following your treatment & washed on a 60 degree wash where they will be subsequently stored with the other clean towels.

  • All Nail files, buffers & cuticle sticks will be issued per client to ensure they will only be used on you for hygiene purposes.

  • Any implements that cannot be disinfected will be thrown away and a new one will replace it

  • There is access to a toilet in the studio, should you need to use one.

  • Please be assured more than ever my working space will be completely sterile & 100% clean & fresh for each client, which is why I will be needing additional time in between treatments to maintain that level of hygiene for each client.

  • I do not carry cash or change so if you are planning on paying cash please make sure you have the correct amount.  I provide a sum up card machine for you to pay contactless or any ladies that already pay via bank transfer that is still acceptable should you prefer this method. 

  • I do not accept any cheques.

  • Any clients that choose to pay via bank transfer can use the details below, could you please make sure this is set up prior to your treatment with the information given below:

  • There is Wifi available in the studio, there is a sign with the code available should you wish to use it.

I would like to assure you that my studio & tools used will be sanitised & disinfected between each client.  Disinfection is a sufficient level of pathogen control, it will kill most bacteria, fungi & viruses.  I use Barbicide & Mundo disinfectant which is changed regularly in line with manufacturers instructions.  I have received my certificate completing the Barbicide on line training, so you are in safe hands.  At the end of each day all metal implements will go in my autoclave for 100% sterilisation.

 

An autoclave is a sterilisation process which will completely destroy all living organisms & spores.  It can only be be performed on metal implements, so rest assured all of my implements will be 100% clean & sterile.

 

Any products unable to be dispensed by a pump, or spray will be dispensed using a plastic spatula that can then be disinfected or a Wooden spatula which will then be thrown away after each use.

I will be wearing nitrile gloves for any appointments involving filing of a product to reduce the risk of allergy to myself.

 

I will be wearing an apron for each treatment which will be machine washed at a minimum of 60 degrees. 

 

I have a Vodex dust extraction unit, which has a built in desk suction tray & an arm which will be close to your hands whilst I file.  The desk tray is used to suck in any heavier dust particles that fall onto my desk created from filing your nails & the arm will work the breathing zone, to ensure both you & I are not breathing in any harmful particles or fumes that are not seen by the naked eye .  As you may be aware it is the dust particles that come from your nails that can act as magic carpet to transfer germs to objects & surfaces, so this will help to combat this.  The filters are removed regularly and changed when needed.

I do use an E-File (electric file) to prepare the cuticles in some cases & to de-bulk any builder gel enhancements when receiving a maintenance or rebalance appointment.  I would like to reassure you this will not damage your nails in the hands of a trained professional, which I am.  The nails will be finished off with Manual filing.  Again this machine has metal drill bits which can be sterilised & disinfected after each use.  As with all of my certificate's they are visible on my studio walls or in my filing cabinet should you wish to see proof of these.

I would like to assure you all I am fully insured & qualified in all of the treatments I provide, certificates are available should you wish to see them.

​

Your record cards & personal information are held securely in a locked filing cabinet, with only myself who can gain access.  You are free to see these at any time, I will however need to keep these for insurance purposes.

Price Increase

Each year in line with inflation I will be implementing an Annual price increase from 1st April.  All prices can be viewed in my "services" section for each treatment, please feel free to message if you have any inquiries.

Consultation form

I do require all clients to fill out record cards to ensure you aren't contra indicated to any parts of the treatment & so I can tailor the treatment to prevent any adverse reactions etc.  This form will need to be signed & dated at each treatment.  Along with permission to use & share photos on my website or social media pages.

If you have an appointment booked in and develop any symptoms associated with covid 19, you will still be required to attend your appointment with a face covering unless you are of course unwell.  Any cancellations due to this will still be charged as per my cancellation policy, which can be found above. I will also notify any clients I have booked in if I myself become unwell & need to cancel your appointment, you will not be charged for this.  I understand this can be frustrating, but it must be adhered to in order to maintain the smooth running of my business & to prevent any wasted appointments. 

PPE (personal, protective equipment)

At present I am keeping up to date with all of the policies regarding ppe, I am closely monitoring the advice being given to us from both my insurance company & the hair & beauty federation.  

 

I wear nitrile gloves & apron, along with a mask where needed.

I will be carrying out regular risk assessments within the studio to ensure your safety and well being when you visit me for your appointments.
